My Sunday Broadcast

As Sadiq & The Guru come on air tomorrow, Monday, July 20, 2020, live, l am begging all listeners to please, join us in observing two minutes silence in honour and memory of our First Best – Nigeria’s first female combat helicopter pilot, Tolulope Arotile, who died on July 14, 2020. I am dedicating the whole of tomorrow program to her. Or is it her memory?
I wept and lamented when the news of her death broke. How would this land be killing its best at all the times, l screamed out. The pain in my heart reminded me that this is happening in the Nigerian Air Force again.
A quick journey through memory lane reminded me of the brutal murder of Alex Sabundu Badeh (November 7, 1957 – December 18, 2018); a retired Air Chief Marshal, somewhere near Abuja. Life was snuffed off the 15th Chief of Defense Staff by machinery of the Nigerian State Nation.

I moved further down on this abstract memory journey, until l anchored on another gentleman Officer of the Nigerian Air Force; Shittu Alao (he was Chief of Air Staff from 1967 to 1969 – the fourth Commander of the Nigerian Air Force and the second indigenous officer to hold the post). He was said to have died in air crash at Uzebba in Mid-West Nigeria, on October 15, 1969. Did he die in that helicopter crash? Let’s beg time to supply us the correct and accurate answer.

Then, this young, beautiful and brilliant Flight Officer Tolulope Arotile. What did she do wrong or what is her offense?
God! Help us in Nigeria.
Tolu, my fine Officer of inestimable flight and combat value, l shall do everything within my power to keep your memory alive.

Permit me to beg for forgiveness in the sense that l am carried away by the emotions of this avoidable loss, as l almost forgot that there are other topical issues for review tomorrow.

Let’s touch briefly on few others.
Senator Godswill Akpabio; the “god of what more money can do” is still in charge of the Nigerian hostile Ocean of controversy, albeit in the murky waters of corruption. The Niger Delta Development Commission cum an Interim Management Committee; a spicy delicacy of Akpabio, is on one side of the fierce battle line. While at the other side of the battle; with daggers drawn, is the Nigerian National Assembly warriors. Standing with the N/A, at least for now is this recently manifested Iron Lady – Madam Joy Nunieh.
On the sidelines are Nigerians and the international community keenly watching what the outcome of the battle would be. Will Akpabio; a man that looks as having conquered the whole Nigerian terrain, mostly having pocketed the Villa, wins?
Or is it the National Assembly; whose most members are coming to “equity with not too clean hands” win?
Or will the Nigerian Presidency be able to revise and rescue itself from this inglorious descent into abyss of . . .?

“Buhari sends security Chiefs to Northwest”, reports The Nation newspaper. Can you decode what this meant? The interpretation is that Buhari; being th Commander-in-Chief, directs the war from the Villa because his washed-out Service Chiefs; men that have lost out to ideas long time ago, wouldn’t know what to do again. What a pity!

You may be able to hear of our Classical Story tomorrow, all things being equal, depending on how much we are not carried away by this our departed beloved daughter’s story.
The Classical Story is titled “Investigation: From Jonathan to Buhari: Inside Nigerian’s multibillion Naira Railway Fraud”.
It is a story of fraud like you never heard it before. It is only a “a little more sordid” in Buhari’s government than Jonathan’s era. The difference between both is close enough, but for sure, both of them are taking us – Nigerians, to the gutters.

The Rivers State Police Commissioner is not a proper and fit person to be a police officer, and this verdict is by his own pronouncement. Wait till tomorrow to have the details.

I am keeping your Historical Perspective intact. Ditto the golden-valued Knowledge Dropbox.
Our meeting point remains at your golden Radio Station – Lagos Talks 91.3 FM, and time is 0930-1100 hours. Join us to ticket the discussion.
