Tomorrow, Monday, September 15, 2020, is another day we have been eagerly waiting for at Lagos Talks 91.3 FM, as Sadiq & The Guru come on air to review topical issues, and the time is from 09:30-1100 am. As usual, it is a loaded buffet. Let’s preview some teasers.
Former President (calling him former President is a Nigerian style, because in America, it is straight President without former) Goodluck Ebere Jonathan has come out ‘smoking’. Listen to what the most respected Nigerian President; in terms of democratic ethos and values, is saying, on a subject matter he understands better than all his contemporaries – Election. “It is wrong for courts to decide elections”.
What a knowledgeable bomb-drop. And a beautiful piece of knowledge the Wise man from the deep waters of the Niger Delta is bringing to the Nigerian murky and turbulent political table. Let all of us come together to decode all the decoded wisdom the man waved around the subject.
Then, listen to this stern warning from the Nigeria Police Force to those that might be thinking of asking the federal government why it dared fuel hike, before contemplating whether it was good being a Nigerian.
“Protest and be dealt with – Police threatens NAN”.
It seams, under President Muhammadu Buhari, Nigerians don’t have any right whatsoever. Not even the conventional Human Rights to express personal opinion, is still available to Nigerians. Otherwise, how could the Nigeria Police threatens the National Association of Nigeria students like that and no single voice of dissent is being heard.
Time to cry for motherland!
Let us arise and mourn for Nigeria!
Now, we know, in Nigeria, that the “RIGHTEOUS SHALL DIE BY FAITH”.
It is like the day of the dreaded holocaust has come upon us!
Then this: His real names were Terwase Akwaza, but better known by his alias of the jungle, where he reigned as the kingpin, as Gana, talking of the master terrorist who held both Benue and Taraba States to obscure submission for 4 years. Government of Benue State once negotiated with Gana, granted him amnesty, and the man returned back to the jungle, where life is meaningless. The man killed. He maimed. And he was always a step ahead of his hunters. Then, came last Tuesday, he came out of the “forest of 100 demons” for another elaborate amnesty, properly put together by the same Benue State Government. And the unexpected happened.
The Military – yes, the Nigerian Military, struck, albeit differently. And the man Gana did not die, but life was snuffed out of him extrajudicially.
The killing was extrajudicial – bad enough. But beyond that is the permanent closure put to the route of “knowing those that worked with him while his empire lasted”. We shall not be able to know those individuals in government that helped his reign. There is a permanent foreclosure to this wealth of knowledge, courtesy of the Nigerian Military.
Then, you may want to listen to the heroic Ebora Owu; the last Principality and Power on this side of the Nigerian mortality, a Four Star General (retired but not tiring) Aremu Olusegun Obasanjo – one time Military Head of State and another time President. He has returned a critically-well-researched judgement on his military colleague.
“Nigeria becoming a failed state, divided under Buhari”. What do you make of President Obasanjo’s verdict? Let us meet tomorrow for detailed evaluation of the whole process.
Then this – things are falling apart in the North. Things are now looking like the former unified Northern Nigeria is now becoming a greater fallacy, just like the “infallibility of the Pope”, is accepted to be by some people. Look at this caption: “Insecurity: North-Central breaks away from ACF, announces new group”.
There are more, in addition to the mesmerizing Historical Perspective and the ever glorious Knowledge Dropbox. Some guests are also coming tomorrow to increase velocity of the discussion.
By the way, September 28, 2020, is another Monday, and we shall be celebrating the second anniversary of the Sadiq & The Guru. Are you thinking of doing something about that memorable occasion? We are waiting for your impact, and rightfully too.
